SPONSORSHIP DEADLINE MAY 6, 2019

The City of College Station, in collaboration with the City of Bryan and Texas A&M University, will host the 2019 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Games of Texas, which are patterned after the Olympic Games.

The event provides an exceptional stage for the state’s Olympic hopefuls, as well as recreational amateur athletes, to train and compete. The competitions afford Texans of all ages and skill levels a wholesome avenue for positive, personal development through sports and physical activity.

TAAF is a non-profit organization established in 1925 to promote and organize amateur athletics across the state. Membership includes parks and recreation departments, along with individuals and organizations that contribute time, energy and effort toward producing successful amateur athletic events. The TAAF is proud to be recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as an official State Games Program participant every year since 1991.

THE GAMES OF TEXAS FILLS THESE CRITICAL AMATEUR SPORTING NEEDS:
  • Promotes the Olympic ideal at the grassroots community level.
  • Encourages athletes to enter organized competition, mindful of the Olympic creed that “… the important thing is not winning but taking part.”
  • Provides a world-class stage where amateurs can display their talents.
  • Enables gifted athletes to take the initial steps on the long, demanding road to the Olympic Games.
  • Promotes the visibility of all amateur sports, not just prominent Olympic sports.
Recognized as the largest amateur sporting event in Texas, the Games of Texas has grown steadily since the first event in San Antonio in 1986. The cities of College Station and Bryan will host the Games of Texas for the seventh time after conducting events in 1988, 1994, 2000, 2014, 2015 and 2018. In 2018, the event attracted about 7,600 athletes between the ages of 5 and 75 and had more than 19,000 spectators in attendance.

The 2019 Games of Texas will be July 25-28 at outstanding facilities across College Station, Bryan, and the Texas A&M campus. The festival is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors to the Bryan/College Station area with more than 1,500 local volunteers helping conduct the event. Among the highlights will be the Opening Ceremony Extravaganza at College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek Park.

We invite you to become a part of the popular sports festival as a Games of Texas sponsor. Sponsorship visibility will cross all media boundaries and saturate the entire event, from preview announcements to guests leaving after the final event. Visitor demographics are broad and diverse as we welcome guests from all over the state. Select the level of participation that best meets your needs and have complete confidence that your sponsorship will support another outstanding Games of Texas.
