Committee Teams
Awards and Nominations
This team is responsible for seeking, accepting and reviewing applications for consideration for the TAAF Hall of Fame, state Athlete of the Year and other award categories listed in the Calvacade. This team is also responsible for reviewing leadership positions within the organization and seeking individuals to serve in those roles for consideration at the Annual meeting, or other times as needed.
Education, Scholarship & Student Development
This team is responsible for assisting with planning and organizing the educational sessions and presenters at SMS University and the TRAPS Athletics/Aquatics Branch sessions for the TRAPS annual conference. This team is oversees the TAAF Scholarship application process and makes a recommendation to the Executive Board of the scholarship recipients. Additionally, this team manages the student development mentorship program.
Finance
This team is responsible for reviewing the budget, TAAF finances and fees, and making recommendations to the Executive Board and the general body. If/when an ethics review is necessary, this committee will handle the issue.
GOT & TAAF Events
This team is responsible for serving as a resource to the state office for all things related to the Summer and Winter Games of Texas, including recruiting liaisons and assisting with planning for liaisons needs. Additionally, this team will help to recruit and ensure quality bidders for other TAAF events, including the Annual meeting, Hall of Fame meeting and SMS meeting.
Sports & Innovations
This team is responsible for reviewing current TAAF sports, ensuring sports rules are current and effective, and is responsible for researching new sports and activities that are on the rise to consider them for possible official TAAF sports, and drafting sports rules when new sports are added.
Legislation
This team is responsible for reviewing and discussing legislation submitted by the general body, creating and drafting legislation for consideration that enhances the organization, reviewing the Cavalcade to ensure it is up to date with current business practices, and making recommendations to the Executive Board and the general body.
Member Relations & Fundraising
This team is responsible for reviewing issues related to membership in the TAAF organization, including membership levels and member benefits, and developing strategies to enhance participation by both Member City and Affiliate members. Additionally, this team plans and executes fundraising and social activities for the membership who attend the various TAAF meetings to support the TAAF scholarship program or other TAAF interests.
Visions & Presidents
This team is responsible for envisioning and setting a path for TAAF for the next 10 years and beyond, by examining trends in the industry and utilizing the experience and knowledge of those who have served in the capacity as President of the organization to help set realistic and achievable goals and objectives.
